BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Grade 2


To help us learn more about African-Americans who made important contributions to our country, we will visit an online source to give us more information about famous African-Americans.  We celebrate Black History month to recognize that their are many African-Americans that have had wonderful accomplishments and have made so many contributions to our society.

Visit the website:  Black History in America  [http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/bhistory/] to learn about Black History Month and important African-Americans.

Answer the following questions after viewing the site and reading the information:

1.   Click on the box "African-American Inventors."  List five African-American inventors.

2.   Click on "George Washington Carver."  Write down his most famous invention.

3.   Click on the box "Rosa Parks."  Write what you learned about the important event she began.
      Click on  "Interview" and  read about how she started the bus boycott.  Click on the word "boycott" and write down the definition.
