Bats

In this drop-in, third grade students will gather some information on bats, complete a
Venn diagram, and create a word find.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the fictional book Stellaluna.  Stellaluna used her excellent eyesight to fly at night.  Now you will read the story of Echo the Bat.   Echo uses a different sense to "see".  Print and use a
Venn diagram to compare the bats Stellaluna and Echo.

Next print out the diagram of a bat and use this site to label the parts of a bat. Be sure to look at the bat skeleton!

Now use the vocabulary from your Venn diagram or your diagram to create a word search.  Print it out.  Your teacher will make copies for the class.  Print and keep the solution to your word search.
