Introduction:

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has developed an outline of what foods to eat per day based on the Dietary Guidelines.  This outline takes the form of the Food Guide Pyramid.  The pyramid identifies which foods and serving sizes to be eaten daily in order to receive a balanced diet of nutrients and calories.  A Food Guide Pyramid works for any person regardless of sex, nationality or culture.
