PE Central – This page provides physical education teachers with a large variety of information pertaining to both physical education and health. There are lesson plans available for just about anything and everything a physical education or health teacher could possibly teach. These lesson plans are organized according to topic and grade level, making it easy for instructors to find exactly what they are looking for. Classroom management and additional information are also listed to help benefit teachers in this area. PE central goes one step further and actually provides tips on interviewing and even lists job openings.

Physical Education Lesson Plans – This well organized site has some information on most topics a health or physical education teacher would ever encounter. There are activities for both primary and secondary teachers. Health and nutrition information is also provided.

PE Zone – This site provides teachers with many skill building activities. For example, teachers who are in a basketball unit can find dribbling drills and exercises. This webpage also has a large section dedicated to health. This section offers visitors many links to find more information on topics ranging from drug abuse to injury prevention. Some ways that this site differs from other PE sites is that it also has section on dances and gymnastics, which could be very useful to some instructors.

Lesson Plans Page – Just as the name suggests, this site offers lesson plan ideas for all subjects. The plans are separated according to grade level and include sports, health, and races. This site also features a forum for educators to discuss ideas and lesson plans. Another section of the site has a collection of inspirational teacher stories where educators can read the stories of others and even submit their own.

Sports-Media - Sports-Media is an interesting site that allows you to share lesson plans with other teachers. In order to view the database of lesson plans, you must first upload one of your own lessons. This gives users of the site the ability to share great ideas worldwide. This site also provides a forum where ideas can be exchanged. There is also an “ask the expert” area of the forum, where teachers can ask content specific questions and receive expert advice.

HeartPower! Online - This webpage is for health teachers. There is information on diet, nutrition, and exercise. The site also focuses on heart conditions and even has child specific information on various health problems and heart diseases. Health and risk assessment are also provided.

Health Teacher - This is a site that visitors can log onto to obtain lesson plans. Plans are available for grades kindergarten through high school. National Center for Health Education - This health education site provides information on school health programs and news regarding health education in general. Online training for health teachers is also available for teacher of grades kindergarten through sixth. This site also provides information on funding and enhancing health education programs. There is even an assessment to help administrators determine the effectiveness of their school’s health programs and health curriculum.

Get Active Stay Active - The purpose of this site is to promote active lifestyles in today’s youth. Teens can create an account and keep an electronic log of their physical activities. This not only serves as a great motivational tool, but also helps those who are serious with their physical activity stay organized. The site also allows teachers to register their schools in this program. The students then keep an electronic journal log and participate in the President’s Challenge, where they can earn the President’s Active Lifestyle Award. Overall, there are many good ideas and tips on this site, along with the programs discussed.

This is a great resource for teachers, allowing them to easily browse and purchase any piece of equipment their school needs. Using Technology in Physical Education Newsletter – This website is actually an online newsletter on the topic of using technology in physical education. There is also an online store selling the products featured in the newsletter.
