Introduction - 8th Grade Physical Education

 

As we enter our physical fitness unit, it is important to fully understand what is beneficial and detrimental to our fitness.  There are many myths out there about weight lifting, cardio exercises, and getting in shape in general.  Understanding what works and what does not work in the weight and cardio room will help us effectively increase our health, strength, and conditioning in order to meet our fitness goals.

  1. It is important to supplement exercise with the proper dietary habits.
  2. It is vital to work-out on a daily basis in order for it to be effective.
  3. Exercise is more beneficial to those who are already fit.
  4. New-age exercises such as Tae-Bo, Yoga, and Tai Chi can be as beneficial as the traditional fitness methods.
