Dear Parents,

Working on the internet is one of the things that we will do in first grade. Let me assure you that at Parr’s Ridge Elementary School we do many things that make it safe for your child to be online. We have an internet filter that will filter out anything questionable. Our computer lab is also set up in a way that all computers can be monitored at one time.

As a teacher, I will provide constant supervision while students are on the internet. I will also visit each website that I will ask the children to visit to make sure that it is an instructionally sound website. The children will have structured assignments so there will be no reason for the students to “surf” the web. We will also go over appropriate uses of the internet by viewing a story called “Little Red in Cyber Space”. You can view this story at:
