·        Web Drop #1: “Discovering the Elements of Music.”  This activity allows music students to discover and define the basic elements of music.

·        Web Drop #2:  Do You Hear What I Hear?  Students should be able to describe a musical composition in grand and glorious detail using the basic elements of music.  Perceptive listening brings understanding of how the elements of music connect with the function of the music.

·        Web Drop #3:  Vocal Music of the Baroque Era.”  This supplementary activity explores and compares the three main genres of Baroque vocal music – opera, cantata, and oratorio. Students will concentrate on three main composers: Purcell, Bach, and Handel.

·        Web Drop #4:  Comparing Gospels to Spirituals Research” will prepare students to differentiate between gospel and spiritual songs.  Students will understand the history and function of gospel music in order to discuss messages of the lyrics.

·        Web Drop #5:  Politics In Music” takes a look at how some mainstream artists infuse politics into their music.  This high school level research and listening activity will help to prepare students to understand the connection between music and politics.

·        Computer Retirement:  It is important to remember that “format” and “delete” not do mean erase.  This course module provides information concerning the importance of removing private security data from the hard drive before the transfer or the disposal of a computer.

·        Filtering Software:  While Internet filtering software is not without flaw, it can be an effective deterrent to undesirable cyber space activities. This article considers some of the pros and cons of using filtering software.

·        Evaluating Websites: I have created a checklist will help you to decide if a website is useful as an instructional resource.  I also used the checklist against two websites chosen at random concerning church modes.  Open the door to wisdom while staying attuned to common sense.

·        Hoaxes and Myths:  Chain letters pervade our e-mail with pleas for support. We need the knowledge to decide the difference between hoaxes, myths, and realities.  This personal experience and reaction will give you a place to start.

·        Virtual Field Trip: Choral students can choose one of four virtual trips to destinations where they can learn more about the instruments which accompany their musical performances.

·        Teacher Made Websites:  I had little difficulty in locating lesson plans, suggestions, and musical resources created for teachers.  Finding sites created by teachers was a bit more challenging.  The best treasures were found by using search phrases such as teacher created sites and sites by music teachers.  Ideas and suggestions offered by these teachers are already proofed in the classroom.

·        Citing Internet Resources: It is important to give proper credit to the creators of sources used in data collection.  There are two main styles MLA and APA.  This assignment identifies two good example sources for MLA formatting.

·        Keypals: Connecting keypals from other parts of the country and/or world promotes the cultural exchange of understandings and ideas.  This document lists possible music activities to explore with keypals as well as two great sites to get you started.
