Lesson Plan Elective

The Internet is a wonderful resource for lesson plans. I found some sites with a broad range of subjects and some sites that focus on a single subject. Any of these websites can be a valuable teaching tool.
The Lesson Plan Page - This is a great site with thousands of lesson plans. You can search the site by subject, grade level, or themes. Each set of lessons has cross-curriculum ideas such as math ideas for social studies. It also has an area where teachers can make their own math worksheet and flash cards. Date visited 2/28/06.
Lesson PlanZ.com ÐThis is a useful site with a good variety of lessons. It has a section of book activities for media lesson ideas. You can search for lessons by grade level or subject. This site includes special education and physical education lessons. There is an active teacher discussion board. Date visited 3/2/06.
The EducatorÕs Reference Desk Ð This website has a collection of 2,000 lesson plans. It is well-designed and easy to use. The lessons cover most subjects including information literacy. It also has a resource guide with topics such as librarianship and special education.

Apple Learning Interchange ÐThis website contains lesson plans for using technology in the classroom. The lessons use technology such as digital cameras, IPhoto and Imovie. All of the lessons have a Quicktime clip of the actual lesson. It has lessons for all grade levels. Date visited 3/1/06.
Science Netlinks Ð Science and the Internet is the focus of this website. It contains lots of lesson plans and the science benchmark for each lesson. Each lesson contains the web link and reproducible worksheets. Resource section has reviews of websites included in the lessons. Date visited 3/1/06.
