Five situations in which translation can be very beneficial in the classroom are:

· Scanning portions of the text into the computer and translating them into the language that a particular student is more comfortable with, so that he or she is not wasting time trying to understand the words and is able to focus on the concepts

· Writing problems in another language for a student who struggles with understanding English.

· Allowing a student to type work in his or her first language and then translating it into English, so you can grade it. Also, you could translate your comments into his or her first language.

· Creating handouts of presentations in a student’s first language, so that they are not lost through the entire lecture.

· Vocal translators, which translate your spoken word into a student’s first language. The student would then be wearing an ear piece and could follow the entire lecture very easily.

There are some negative results that can occur from arthroscopic laser surgery, but as technology improves these negative results will become less and less common. Also, as knowledge of lasers increases more and more uses of lasers in medicine will be found.
