E-Learning

With more and more people using
computers, it only makes sense that more and more things will start being able
to be done on the computer. Electronic
learning is definitely an interesting and exciting approach to educating
people. We don’t want to ever get to the
point where teachers are no longer present, especially since I am just getting
into it, but with how much we can do on the computer it would be a shame not to
take advantage of everything. I visited
two different sites that contained tutorial and instructional activities
completely using the internet. The first
site I looked at was class.com where I went through a basic algebra unit. Looking at it from the standpoint of the Maryland State rubric
for online classes, it definitely met the requirements. The site definitely had everything that it
needed, including the general technology requirements of the user. Each unit contained a complete syllabus
covering all of the material required by the state and the individual lessons
were interesting and used a variety of different strategies to educate the
user. The other site that I went to was
K12 where I wasn’t able to specifically go through any units, but I was able to
evaluate the site without having to. The
site also definitely meets all of the requirements. One interesting aspect of this site is that
it is affiliated with many different states and connects to a state specific
site, so that a user is meeting the requirements of the state in which they
live. The site informs the user of the
technological requirements and provides adequate information about the academic
requirements of each unit. Both of these
sites are definitely effective and worthwhile sites.
