Web Link Bibliography

This is a list of great sites for teachers and students, including tutorials, problems, demonstrations, organizations, and other cool stuff.

Webquest

This is a great webquest activity on Newton’s laws on motion.  It takes students through each law and then provides them with activites to do to ensure their understanding.

Dropin One

Albert Einstein was one of the greatest minds of all times and in this activity students get to learn a little more about him and his work.

Dropin Two

The study of light can be one of the hardest topics for students because it involves concepts that go beyond rational thought.  This activity takes students through the property of light known as refraction.

Dropin Three

Motion is something that we all experience on a daily basis, but most people take it for granted.  In this activity we examine motion a little further and see what exactly is going on.

Dropin Four

There are a lot of things beyond this world that most people don’t even realize are happening at this very instant.  Throughout this activity we take a look at the pros and cons of space exploration and read about some of the major arguments for and against it.

Dropin Five

When going through the semester of mechanics the first section that gives students the most trouble is rotation because it’s a brand new topic with a bunch of new terms.  The goal of this activity is to make students aware of the connection between rotation and the rest of what was studied throughout the beginning of the semester.

Internet Course Module

When the unit on motion begins the class first has to understand the basics of motion because there isn’t much motion out there that is only directed in one direction.  This is why two-dimensional motion is such a cool topic because the students can finally start seeing physics in action in things they see every day.

Copyright

As a teacher it is very important to be knowledgeable on the copyright laws.  With how much information is out there on the internet it would be a shame not to use it, but one has to be careful about not violating any copyright restrictions.

Publications

This is a list of some of the best physics publications that are out there.  It is very important that we continue to stay up on all the new information that’s coming out and there isn’t an easier way then reading through journals and other publications.

Filtering

Filtering has become a very controversial topic and is being widely debated today.  The issue at hand is whether it is right to filter computers in schools and libraries in order to block our vulgar material.

Avoiding Pornography

The pornographic industries are very sneaky in the sense that they are able to trap people into their sites, whether they went there intentionally or not.  As teachers we want our students to be informed of what to do if they ever do get trapped by one of these sites when they are using the computers at school or even at home.
