Lesson Plans - This is an elective that has five annotated websites that Social Study teachers could use to pick out lesson plans to use in their classes if they need additional help in the subject area.  http://lessonplans.html


E-Learning - This elective activity had me compare two different websites by using the Maryland State Department of Education checklist for Evaluation online Courses for Middle and High school students. http://elearning.html

Article Critique #2 - This activity is a reflection based off an article that discusses the uses of Technology and the Internet in classrooms.  It shares an overview of what the article was about and my own personal reflection. http://journalarticletwo.html

Web Dropin #1 - This site is an illustration of an activity I made up for students to browse a website about the holocaust and then answer questions based off of their findings. http://dropin1.html

 

Web Dropin #2 - This site is an activity for students to answer questions based of a websites that discusses the six different biomes.  It also includes graphics this time. http://dropin2.html


Web Dropin #3 - This site is an activity for students to learn more about the civil war.  They need to compare the south and north to each other by looking at the time line and maps provided by the website.  In addition to comparing both sides they have a series of questions to answer by viewing the particular website provided by the teacher.  http://dropin3.htm

- This site is an activity for students to learn more about Iraq.  Students can browes a site containing facts about Iraq and it's government.  They will also compare to sites and see the different points of views as to why we're still in Iraq.  They will also address their own opinion whether our troops should still be there or if they should be pulled out.  http://dropin4.htm


Web Dropin #5 - This site gives students the opportunity to compare the societies before and after Industrial Revolution.  Students will have a chance to visit different websites and compare how technology has enhanced our society.  http://dropin5.htm

 

Checklist - This is an instructional activity of choice.  This is a checklist that I pass out to students underlining rules and procedures when browsing the Internet. http://checklist.htm

 

Letter - This is an instructional activity of choice that goes along with my checklist.  This is a letter sent home to parents outlining the schools procedures with the Internet and how I would educate my students on policies and regulations that deal with the Internet.  http://letter.htm


Spam - This is an activity an instructional web activity.  This format is in the form of a manuel that discusses what is spam, why is it bad, what can we do about it, and when should the government take action.  http://spam.htm


Porn - This is an instructional web activity that discusses the use of internet in school and what can happen if porn is shown on their computers.  This is a letter/contract for students to read and sign discussing the expectations I have for them if porn pops up on their screen.  The letter has instructions to follow if porn every pops up on their screen. http://pornsite.htm


Viruses - This is an instructional web activity that provides tips and warnings when dealing with computer viruses we tend to see throughout the use of our emails.  It provides a guideline to follow to try to avoid viruses and what to do to avoid any further disruptions from that company sending the nasty emails. In addtion to the tips, a letter is also accompanying the tips that individuals can send to companies that send junk mail they don't want.   http://viruses.htm


Copyright - this activity describes two scenerios presented to the class that they have to describe what copyright laws are being violated.  It provides two paragraphs describing how each scenerio violated the copyright laws.  http://copyright.htm


Webquest - this activity gives students the chance to explore the internet to find out more things about Biomes.  Once they explore different resources provided by this site, they have to create their own brochure and poster to advertise the biome of choice to other travelers.  It includes an introduction, task, how they will be scored, resources, and a conclusion.  http://webquest.htm


virtual Fieldtrips - This is an instructional web activity that provides different sites for students who can't adventure outside the classroom to learn more about the civil war.  There are four suggested sites to travel to if students wanted to learn more about Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg, Union prisons, and facts concerning the civil war. http://fieldtrips.htm
