Welcome to the Media Center!

This page is designed to help students in grades K-5, teachers and parents find information.

The library is open from 8:30 to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. With 18,875 items circulating yearly, this is a busy place! Come see us!

Our Mission:
The media center is a welcoming place that is here to help you, inspire you, teach you and find what you need. We want you to love reading and learning!

Our Vision:
The media center is not just a room with books, but a rich environment in which to learn and grow. It is a place to establish a foundation for lifelong learning and to encourage the learner. Our vision for the media center is that it will be the hub of the school, the engine that drives a love of learning.

We plan to accomplish this by:
• having professional staff that will work with other professionals to advocate and accommodate for the needs of all students
• selecting quality materials that reflect a variety of differing viewpoints in a wide range of formats
• promoting, reinforcing and supporting all student’s interests in reading, viewing and listening
• foster excellence in all information concepts

Our students will:
• analyze complex and conflicting presentations of information, recognizing prejudice and bias
• appreciate differing points of view
• access and use information successfully to make decisions, think critically and problem solve
• produce new information and communicate ideas with others
• use information responsibly and demonstrate respect of intellectual property rights and the right to access for all
• be lifelong learners that contribute positively to the learning community

Policies
All classes visit the Library Media Center once each week for a 45 minute time period as part of their regular specials rotations. Teachers are encouraged and welcome to bring their classes during available flexible schedule times.

In addition to their weekly visit, students may visit the LMC in the morning before the start of school from 8:45 to 9:10 AM to exchange books, participate in extra activities and "talk books" with the media specialist. Encourage your child to come in – we love seeing them!

Students in kindergarten and first grade are allowed to check out one book each week. Students in second through fifth grades may check out two books each week.
