A Web Quest for Psychology

INTRODUCTION:

There are individuals who suffer from psychological disorders. These disorders range from panic attacks to schizophrenia. Therapy will often help these individuals. The methods of therapy will vary.

TASK:

You are a graduate of Hannegrefs’ University. Along with your colleagues; you have become an expert in a method of psychotherapy. There is an upcoming Psychology Convention. You and your colleagues will be presenting information on your method of therapy.

PROCESS:

1. Assignment to groups (colleagues)

2. Selection of therapy/treatment

3. Each group will be provide the following information in either a poster, power point presentation, or hand-out for the convention attendees:
1. definition of therapy
2. an introduction which explains the assigned terms
3. explanation of what goes on during therapy/treatment

4. Select a psychological disorder or use the disorder assigned to your group that an individual would need therapy for help. Use notes, textbook, and previous web drop-ins to find information on your psychological disorder.

5. Prepare three role plays that include the following:
1. beginning session with therapist
2. middle session
3. end session of therapy (this could be the last session or near the last session of therapy)

6. Present to the convention attendees

7. Complete the worksheet at the end of this activity.
