Instructional Modifications

Objective:  Students will be able to locate various Internet resources in regards to instructional modifications in the classroom. 

Objective:  Students will be able to generate a useful list of simple modifications for their general instruction which enable all students to achieve academically and increase focus and time on task.

Introduction:  Every employee in any school system is exposed to children of all walks of life and needs.  In order to ensure the progress of the “No Child Left Behind” act, all employees need to be familiar with routines, procedures, and modifications that enhance student progress.  The focus of this activity is to enhance awareness of the simplicity involved in getting students to produce work that is reflective of their abilities.  Using your own experiences and through searching the Internet, you will explore instructional modifications.

Activity:  Develop a list of instructional modifications addressing various student needs.  When looking for modifications, keep in mind your content area and the types of students that you encounter.

Assignment: 

1.  Make a list of at least 20 instructional modifications addressing at least 10 different student needs.
