Introduction
The Internet is a great resource for information on any topic. The Internet allows you to research topics from your computer. The only problem is the reliability of the information. Anyone can put information on the Internet so you must be able to validate the accuracy of the research. In this activity you will research Web Site Evaluation techniques and create a worksheet that incorporates some of the information that you have learned and then you will put your worksheet to use.
Activity
Students will use this Website, Web Resource Evaluation Techniques, to collect useful information that they can use to create a worksheet.
Assignment
Students will create a worksheet, using Microsoft Word, that they can use as a guide during research projects so that they are confident that factual information from a reliable source is being used. After students have created this worksheet, they will use it to evaluate two web sites that are supplying educational information.
