Teacher Made
Websites

Website # 1: Mr. Gabbard’s Honors Geometry Website
Grade Level: High School
Subject: Honors Geometry
Usefulness: I found this site to be very useful. The syllabus, grading scale, daily plans,
etc. are all listed as links on the main page.
I think it would be very useful for students to check their assignments
and class information.
Commendations:
1.
Link
to important announcements.
2.
All
pertinent class information listed as links.
3.
Well
organized and easy to read.
Recommendations:
1.
Remove
the cartoon from the main page.
2.
There
were too many scrolling announcements, which I found to be somewhat
distracting.
3.
Have
the “Enter Here” icon at the top of the page (after removing cartoon); I had to
scroll to the bottom of the page to enter.
4.
List
“last updated” date somewhere on the page.
Website # 2: Mr. Rush’s Science
Website
Grade Level: High School
Subject: Science
Usefulness: Again, a useful website for students; all
pertinent information was listed and easy to find.
Commendations:
1.
Assignments
listed for a day when the classes have a substitute - I thought this was pretty
clever!
2.
Well
organized and easy to read.
3.
Current
units are listed (i.e. which unit the class is currently studying).
4.
Helpful
links (i.e. how do I e-mail Mr. Rush?)
Recommendations
1.
Introductory
pages are dull.
2.
Links
to classes (Honors Chemistry and Physics and Chemistry 1) should stand out more
– they are not very distinctive.
3.
The
site does not appear to be updated.
