Internet Online Course Module #1
Favorites Menu: Internet Explorer
Objective
–
Students
will be able to organize the links that they will most often use in the
classroom using the Favorites menu in Internet Explorer.
Introduction
–
Have
you ever wanted to revisit a site that you were at a couple of days ago but
forgot what the web address was? Are you
tired of having to type in www.hotmail.com
every time that you want to read your email?
Are there any other sites that you wish you could just click a button
and be there without having to remove your hand from the comforts of the mouse?
Well,
want, tire, and wish no more all of these things can become reality by using
Internet Explorers Favorites menu item.
Activity
–
Using
Internet Explorer click on the menu item labeled Favorites. If you have never used this menu before there
should be default Favorites already available for you to check out. The majority of them are related to Microsoft
in some way or another…I wonder why?
Take a moment to explore the links that may already be under your
Favorites menu, noting the ones that you may wish to keep. You can read more
about the Favorites menu in the Help section, just type in favorites in the
search field.
Assignment
–
Throughout
the semester place the websites that you used most often or really enjoyed into
the favorites menu. Also organize the
favorites menu by using different file folders and place at least five websites
in each file folder. For example: I am a high school biology teacher, one of my
files may be Birds, and I would include five websites that I visited frequently
in the Birds file.
At
the conclusion of the semester use Microsoft word and make an outline of your
favorites menu. Submit it to your
teacher via email.
