Meiosis vs. Mitosis

Introduction:

Have you ever wondered how you, a multi-billion celled organism, came about from just the fusion of two cells? Or how were these two cells created anyway, to store all of the information to create such a being. The process of mitosis is the way in which we have grown from a single cell to what we are today. The process of meiosis is the process through which are sexual gametes are formed.

Information:

In this dropin you will be exploring these two processes and their importance to continuing survival of life on Earth.

Activity:

You will first go to these links and explore the information on Mitosis and Meiosis. Then you will go to this final link and view a comparison of the two processes. You will then create a Venn diagram that compares the process of mitosis vs. meiosis, keeping in mind what the differences between the two processes are and what their similarities are.
