In the novel Animal Farm, by George Orwell, the character Squealer plays a very vital role in keeping the pigs in power.  It is his job to convince the animals that the farm is better off now than before.  He uses some great persuasive techniques to do so.  Some people may call what he did lying, but that is not really true.  He simply used propaganda to achieve his goals.
