I am currently teaching first grade and working towards my Master’s degree in School Library Media at McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) in Westminster, Maryland. Web Link Bibliography - This is a collection of annotated bibliographies for web sites that would be great to use when teaching Ecology. Some of the annotations contain links to great background information for teachers or parents. Other annotations are linked to sites with games that students can play and learn about ecology. Webquest – A WebQuest is an instructional activity in which students are given a topic and then provided with an activity for learning about and working with information associated with that topic. A WebQuest encourages higher level thinking and cooperative learning. Web Dropins - A Web Dropin is a short informational Web based activity in which students are given a brief introduction on a certain topic. Then a question is asked and an activity is completed. A Web Dropin activity should take about 20-30 minutes. For this course I created 5 Dropins. The topics include:
