Course Module 1
World Travel

Goals/Introduction:
The students will become familiar with various types of
online travel. The internet is filled with various web sites that can help you
find the perfect travel destination. There are sites made particularly for air
travel and sites that are made particularly for hotels. There are even sites
that allow you to book your air, hotel, and rental car all at the same time. It
is truly amazing that in this day and age you can book your travel destination
with just a few clicks of the mouse. Throughout this activity you will become
an online travel expert and discover which online travel companies you think
are the best.
Activity:
Explore the following sites to familiarize yourself with
several online travel companies. Once you have explored all of the travel
sites, use a search engine to find and explore at least three more.
Assignment: Using all the information you have gained, create a top
five online travel list. Include the link to the site you have chosen and
provide a detailed description of why you chose the site.
At the conclusion of your travel page, take the time to
write down a description of your ideal vacation. Once you have decided upon
where you would like to go, take the time to look up your vacation on your
favorite travel sites. Share your findings as to what site offered the best
deal and when the best time to travel would be.
Assessment: Students will be assessed based on the following rubric.
