Earlier today we read the
book George Washington's Teeth by D. Chandra and M. Comora.
It is just one of the many excellent books nominated for the Black-Eyed
Susan Book Award. We will be reading a variety of the books nominated
for the award this year. Then, at the end of the year, we will vote
for our favorites. In May we will discover whether our favorites become
the books that win the award.
The Black-Eyed Susan Award is presented by MEMO (Maryland
Educational Media Organization) each year to the book that receives the most
votes by students from all over Maryland. Using the MEMO website you
will read about the award and record the following information in your
Reader's
Journal. Title your page "Black-Eyed Susan Award."
