Dealing with Bullies

Have you ever had to deal with a bully?  Most people have met up with a bully at one time or another, and often are not happy with the way they chose to handle it.  In this activity, you'll learn more about what a bully is, why they act the way they do, and most importantly, what you can do about it.

You will explore three websites about bullying, and use the information there to fill in the worksheet chart.  Right now - get the worksheet and print it out.  You can fill it in as you explore the websites.           

Now that you have the worksheet, take some time to browse through the three websites below.  You can either take notes on your worksheet as you go, or complete it after you're done.

No Bully

Now that you've learned more about bullies, and why they bully, think about a bully that you know (maybe it's you!).  Using what you've learned, come up with a plan for handling that bully the next time they bother you.  If you need help, talk to your friends, teacher or counselor - there is strength in numbers!  You will also need to list three strengths that you have - things you are good at or like about yourself.

If you think you act like a bully sometimes, make a plan for yourself about making good choices and calming down when you feel like being a bully.  You will also need to list three strengths that you have - things you are good at or like about yourself.

I know you can handle bullies - just believe in yourself!
