Web Quest – Civil War Our class has been chosen to participate
in a Civil War reenactment in Gettysburg Pennsylvania the third week of July
this summer. A reenactment is repeating actions of an earlier event in History.

Tips – Searching Made Easy and Quicker
The
Internet is a vast resource of information with topics from Anaconda to Zydeco.
The information is there, the problem is finding it. There are several search
engines available to find a certain topic or answer to a particular question.
The key to finding the information you want is in how you approach the topic.
Each search engine has its’ own search tips, a quick review of them will help
aid you in the search.

it is much easier and faster to send an email than to write a letter or call
someone. Email is an important form of communication when used correctly. Our
sixth grade class will work hard to establish good lines of communication. It is important to remember a few rules when

(2) Travel Agent for the Hot Spots of South Carolina and Maryland
Having
one parent from Maryland and one parent from South Carolina, the Colbert family
is faced with the dilemma of where to spend vacation. Please help them make the correct decision on where to

(3) Time Capsule – A Moment in History
The
Carroll County Board of Education is constructing a new school and would like
to incorporate a time capsule in the corner stone of the building. All 6th
graders have the opportunity to plan what items should be included. I would
like
a time capsule from our class to be chosen.

(5) Flag – Forever in Peace May She Wave
With
the recent activities in our nation, the American Flag is more prominent today
than it has ever been. The flag is seen on clothes, walls, pictures, faces,
toys, basically on any and everything. There is a special set of rules and
regulations that accompany the flag; our class is going to share our flag
information with the rest of the school by making a flag guideline pamphlet.

Our
world changes by the minute and it is important to assist students in keeping
abreast of world news through current events.
Students are deluged with information from television, newspapers, radio
and everyday conversation. It is our job as teachers to help students to
