Assignment:  Create your own civil war web page with a letter, photo(s), and music!

 

Directions:

Letter

  1. Visit the “letters” websites below which contain copies or transcripts of letters written to and from soldiers and family members during the civil war.
  2. Choose at least two letters, one at least to or from a soldier, that describes one or more aspects of daily life, personal costs, hardships and/or the war.
  3. Open a MS Word web page document and write a letter from the perspective of a civil war soldier or family member based on the letters you found.

 

Extra Credit, only if you finished #’s 1-3 and have time remaining!

  1. Visit the “music and photos” websites. Choose Civil War music and pictures you think go along with your letter. Add these to your web page.
  2. Finish off your web page with era-appropriate fonts and colors.
