Submission Elective – Gaming

I signed on to one of my former favorite gaming sites.  It is run by http://www.flipside.com/ however the games I like to play are then found in a subcategory on http://www.uproar.com/

I agree that these games are highly addictive that is part of the reason I haven’ t let my self sign onto them for a while.  I LOVED a game called Acrophobia.  I signed on and played it for hours.  This is a game that they give you a set of letters anywhere between 3 and 7 letters and you race against other players to come up with a witty statement or sentence based on the topic at the bottom.  I played so much I actually developed a rapport with others in the chat room.  It was cool to sign on and have people recognize you by your screen name and actually team up with you! I had one friend

“Fairydittle” that I purposely looked for in rooms to play with “her?”  My screen name is Socialbtrfly.   Needless to say I think Acrophobia offended some people as the chat rooms could get vicious and occasionally take the a sexual turn.  In the chat rooms if any of the acronyms offended someone..they’d type that they were offended… and then the rest of the members in the room would suggest if you can’t take the heat..get out of the kitchen.  I was very sad to click in and find that my favorite game had been taken off the board… if nothing else I was always entertained by the chatter and creativity!  With this assignment in hand I was all set to go in and play with my old friends that I had abandoned before I lost my job.  ( I was really addicted)    I clicked into a game show “ to tell the truth”. I wasn’t all that impressed by it.  Uproar has become swamped with stupid  pop up ads that I found distracting, also the game was slow paced and pretty boring.

I will wait for my acro-phobia to come back to get addicted again.

Just in case you were interested there is actually an online petition raised by fellow acro’ers to get the game back…  I look forward to it… until then I will try not to feed my addiction.
