Plant and Animal Cells

As we are learning about plant and animal cells and their organelles, we will visit a web site that shows real pictures of plant and animal cells with their organelles. There are many organelles in plant and animal cells that you will be responsible for knowing. Click here to visit the site to learn more about plant and animal cells and their organelles. When clicking on the link a plant cell will be shown on the screen.

Under the “Interactive” heading on the side bar click on the “Animal Cell” link to move to the animal cell. You can then click on the “Plant Cell” link to get back to the plant cell.

Once you have explored the website by clicking on animal cell and plant cell under the interactive heading on the side bar, complete the following activities:

1) List 5 organelles of a plant cell and their functions.

2) List 5 organelles of an animal cell and their functions.

3) Are there any differences in what organelles are in plant cells vs. animal cells? If yes, list them and identify which type of cell it is in and its function.
