Students Internet Safety

Objective: Students will be able to identify online safety tips for their students.

Objective: Students will be able to create a safety agreement for their students.

Introduction: Everyone these days is using the internet, especially our students.

Many times students are unaware of the dangers that exist while on

the internet.  Parents may not even realize the potential hazards of

their children surfing the net.  It is your job to identify and list online

safety tips for use in your classroom.  You must also alert your

students’ parents on the dangers that do exist on the internet.

Activity: You will visit the sites listed below to come up with your own list of 10

safety tips that your students should know to stay safe on the internet.

You will also create a safety agreement form that includes 12 rules that

your students should follow when using the internet.  The students will

sign this document and get this document signed by their parents and will

be kept on file by you.
