Email Newsletters are great, FREE ways to get caught up on a topic you feel passionate about or want to learn more about.

Below are 2 great examples!

SmartBrief published by The Council for Exceptional Children

SmartBrief is an email newsletter that is chock-full of information.  It is written by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), a group that has a goal of making the education of gifted and disabled children more successful.  SmartBrief is a collection of articles pertinent to that goal.  SmartBrief's articles cover the areas of curriculum and instruction, technology trends, educational leadership, policy and more.  This is an invaluable newsletter for teachers who have any kind of "exceptional" student in their class, as it keeps educators up-to-date.  It also includes a job listing at the end of the newsletter for educators.  To unsubscribe is very simple, at the end of the newsletter there is an "unsubscribe" button under the "Subscriber Tools" section.  To subscribe to this newsletter, go to http://www.smartbrief.com/cec/ and enter your email to receive daily issues of SmartBrief.

The Patriot Post

This newsletter comes out Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  When subscribing to the newsletter, one may choose a combination of one or all of the days desired.  This newsletter is good for those that like politics.  It gives a right-wing approach to current political, news and mainstream events and provides commentary and relevant historical perspective.  For some it can be held as truth, for others purely entertainment.  This newsletter is good for teachers that want their students to develop critical thinking skills and be up-to-date on current events.  It can serve as a means to discussion and debate.  It is not supported by one political party.  The authors encourage redistribution of the material in the newsletter, since it is already free.  The newsletter is funded by the subscribers and strictly by donation. There is a button at the bottom of every email should a reader decide to unsubscribe.  Click here to subscribe to this newsletter and enter your email to receive The Patriot Post.
