engine is Google. The directory
and the amount of links this search engine provides are awesome. This site is
the easiest to maneuver. I always direct
my students to use this search engine for the greatest technology tool in
finding all kinds of information.
www.yahoo.com Yahoo
receives the silver award. The directory on the front page will aid individuals
with quick access to the Internet. This search engine can also provide users
with their own email service.
Kid Safe Search Engines:
www.yahooligans.com
The gold award for the kid safe search engine is presented to Yahooligans.
I chose this search engine because children of all ages can access this and be entertained
with many activities, information, and music. The directory on the front page
is well organized.
www.kidsclick.org - The silver award belongs to Kids click.
Many students do not have the opportunity to visit the library. This search engine is set up with a list of
topics for children to use when they are need of information for a school
report.
Shopping Search Engines:

(Gold Award Winner) This search engine is the only way to shop on the Internet.
One can find, compare, and buy anything that is sold everywhere in the world. This
search engine can refine your shopping experience by price and brand with
product by other consumers.

The silver award recipient is a search engine called shopping. It is a
combination of two companies called Deal Time (products) and Epinion (consumer
review and rating platform). The goal of this company is to be able to provide
consumers with information so that they make the best shopping decisions.

(Gold Award Winner) Education World is the winner of the best teacher search
engine. The front page is loaded with links to lesson plans, professional
development, technology, and school issues.

Ed Helper receives the silver award for teachers. This site provides a
variety of printable worksheets for all subjects and grade levels.

(Gold Award Winner) The number one travel search engine to help find the
absolute lowest price for airfare, hotels, and rental cars. The search engine
was created in order to make travel planning easier and affordable.
www.tripadvisor.com
My runner up (Silver award) is Trip Advisor. This site includes not only vacation
reservation links, but also includes feedback from individuals that used this
site for their vacation planning. In order to save even more time the search
engine links individuals to popular hotel destinations for hotels around the
world.
