The
first teacher made web site I chose to write about is called Kim’ Korner. Mrs.
Kim of the website introduced herself and explained that she had been a teacher
for sixteen years and wanted to share everything she had ever taught. The
website mainly covered her area of expertise which was language arts and
literature for middle school. However, she also shared classroom management and
bulletin board ideas. I liked how she introduced herself on the front page of
her site. I also liked the fact that she states that anyone can copy anything
on her site as long as they are using it for instructional purposes. I also
liked that she even had a link on how to protect oneself from Spam on the
Internet. The three areas that I would recommend to improve upon would be her
name on the front page. The name was all mixed and hard to read. She needs to
update her material. The last time anyone updated was almost a year ago. There
were also some problems with some of her links.

The next teacher created web site I chose to write about was actually incorporated into the Discover Channel website. The site was created by Kathy Schrock. This website was created for all teachers because it had links to many different kinds of rubrics. I especially liked the rubrics that were created about technology and social studies. The site also provided graphic organizers. The best part about this site was the link to report card comments. The report card link listed 299 comments teachers could write on report cards. I would recommend that this teacher have her own site instead of being linked to Discover Channel. Ms. Schrock needed to introduce herself on the front page and give details on why she made this web site. I also think that the site needed some color and maybe some graphics.
