Planning lessons can be time consuming for today’s busy teacher. The websites below offer lesson plans suitable for the K-12 teacher.  All of the lesson plans are offered free of charge.  All sites visited 3/22/06.

 

1. A to Z Teacher Stuff

This website is chocked full of lesson plans in all subject areas and grade levels K-12. I found this site to be well organized. Searching is made easy by keyword. There are literature activities and thematic units which really appeal to the primary teacher.

2. EduPlace

This website is organized by theme or topic.  There are over 60 topics included. I really liked this site because of its layout. The lesson plans/activities are not very detailed but good nonetheless. Topics covered include careers, computation, pets, travel, and heroes.  This site will be used often by the elementary teacher.

3.  Teachers.Net

This website is great for finding just the right lesson plan.  The site allows you to search for the lesson you are looking for and to submit the lesson plan of your choice. The lesson plans are categorized by subject area and grade level.  This site has chat areas, job areas and free worksheets. 4. Lesson Plan Page

Wow! This website has over 2,500 lesson plans on it.  The site can be overwhelming at first glance but it is organized by subject area which makes finding lessons a bit easier.  Teachers can also spend time discussing teaching ideas and finding solutions to classroom issues with other teachers by using the discussion forum. 5. The Teacher’s Corner

This website has lesson plans for quite a few subjects including math, social studies, music, physical education, reading, and science. The subject areas are linked to websites that feature the lesson plan. The lesson plans are not very detailed but offer a starting point for creativity by the teacher.
