Five Drop-In Activities:
Drop-In Lesson #1 An Eye for an Eye is a lesson about the ancient Babylonian leader, King Hammurabi. Examine Hammurabi's set of written laws and see why his code was so significant. http://www2.mcdaniel.edu/slm/student/baileyp/hammurabilesson.htm
Drop-In Lesson #2 Look at the land of ancient Greece and determine how the geography of ancient Greece effected their development. http://www2.mcdaniel.edu/slm/student/baileyp/landofancientgreece.htm
Drop-In Lesson #3This year marks the 50th anniversary of the landmark case known as Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas. Students read and gather information about the Supreme Court ruling, then look at the impact it has has on public education.
Drop-In Lesson #4 Roman civilization was built on the customs and foundations of the Greeks before them. Students take a look at both Greek and Roman culture to compare and contrast the civilizaitons' characteristics.
Drop-In Lesson #5
Students examine the different social classes during the Roman Empire.
Students create a social pyramid and use information from three different
websites to gather information about the differenty types of Roman people.
