In the highest civilization, the book is still the highest delight. He who has once known its satisfactions is provided with a resource against calamity.

My Reflection on Comprehensive and Collaborative Strategic Planning and Assessment

My Media Website, Curriculum Chart, Media Schedules, Book B.R.A.T

To optimize the effectiveness of the media program I will coordinate with teachers and administrators to support and enhance the curriculum. I will coordinate the literacy standards and the educational curriculum within the Howard County media program to maximize the academic lessons planned throughout year. The strategy of merging the literacy standards with the academic goals and objectives of the Howard County Media program is demonstrated in my artifact, the Curriculum Chart. In my artifact, Book B.R.A.T., I collaborated with the media specialist at Murray Hill to create a book promotion plan. As an extension of my school's goal of appreciation of literature and exploration of a wide variety of materials, I created this project to encourage students to read and evaluate books of different genres and then recommend them to their peers.

It is also important to offer a variety of resources for teachers and students to support academic achievement. In My Media Website I have several sites devoted to offering these resources, such as online research resources, homework help, and promoting access to the Howard County Pubic Library. Finally, as a media specialist I will create a schedule that allows the most effective use of time and access to materials, as shown in the Media Schedule artifact. It will be through direct and indirect collaboration that a media program becomes an effective tool for meeting the school's goals and objectives and student academic success.
