In the highest civilization, the book is still the highest delight. He who has once known its satisfactions is provided with a resource against calamity.

My Reflection on Managing Program Resources: Human, Financial, Physical
Parent Handbook, Media Schedule , My Media Website
|
To have a media program that effectively meets the needs of its community, the media specialist must support its educational goals. As a media specialist I will develop and maintain a diverse collection based on curricular and personal needs of the school. As described in my artifacts, I will follow the Howard County media policies. Effective selection and weeding practices will maintain a collection that meets the educational needs of the school as described in the selection page in My Media Website. The Parent Handbook details the philosophy behind my media program, particularly the use of the media resources and the development of the collection. I designed the My Media Website artifact to reflect the needs and policies of my school, Murray Hill. My Media Website identifies the policies and the procedures I will use when developing my collection. To facilitate access to the media materials, I will work with the administration, staff, and students to optimize use of the media center. I have demonstrated this strategy in my Media Schedule artifact, which delineates the use of the media based on the level of education. It will be through collection development and organized access to materials that a media center can best serve its community.
