Web Link Bibliography – These web sites were compiled for
teachers to use as a reference when creating lessons in geography, map skills,
social studies, and science. These
resources are appropriate for mid-elementary through high school-aged students
to use as research tools.
Copyright – When and how to apply copyright limits on
information gathered from the Internet is a topic of much discussion. Copyright laws are written to protect the
creative works of others. Two scenarios concerning information obtained
from the Internet and used in instructional projects are presented and
discussed.
Citing Internet Sources – It’s important to credit the proper
sources when you use information gathered from the Internet.
Evaluating Websites
– What to
look for in a good educational website.
Viruses – What you can do to prevent a pesky virus
from infecting your computer, and how to prevent them.

Web Drop-In Activities - These are web-based activities where students can practice researching a
topic and complete an activity using the information they gather from
teacher-approved Websites.

Web Quest – This online activity allows students to
plan and prepare for a trip to several landmarks across the United States.
Article Critiques – Two journal articles are examined. One article details the author’s concerns
about virtual classrooms replacing the traditional classroom. The other article presents data collected in
studies that show the correlation between effective school library media
programs and academic achievement.
