This site

Web Drop in
Activities:
Activity 1: Children
will go to a site that contains 5 online stories. They will pick a story to
read and then answer questions and draw a picture to accompany the story. This
activity is for children to do with an adult helper.

Activity 2: Students
will visit a site and choose an author to study. They will read the information
found on the site and complete a worksheet to help them begin the project. This
is the first step for a long term project.

Activity 3: Students will become weather forecasters for a day as they visit
a site to read about Doppler radar and interpret a weather map. Students will
answer interpretation questions as well as giving their opinion on the activity
and if they would like to be a weather forecaster. The map will be updated to the daily weather
activity each time this activity is done.

Activity 4: Students will explore a set of holidays
in order to make comparisons. The information gathered from this
activity will be used in a larger activity later in the marking period.

Activity 5: Students will research 5 animals briefly
and compile their data with a larger group to complete a graph that is given to
them. They will also compile a graph on their own.

based on American Idol to get students to research a historical figure and
