Dear Student and Parents/Guardians,
While there is an extraordinary amount of information on the Internet there are also cites and providers that should not be used by students. The school automatically blocks many inappropriate cites and activities to better protect your student. As a school the students are continually educated yearly on the importance of finding correct information on the Internet as well as using it in the correct way. Your child will be refreshed in this at the beginning of every year.
As a teacher I will monitor the use of the Internet during all of my classes. When the students receive a project they will also receive a list of usable servers where they will be able to find all of the information needed. When we visit the library during class time I will check to make sure that your child is using the appropriate servers and not “Internet wandering”.
It’s very important to myself and the school district that your child is Internet safe and savvy. As a parent I ask you to do the same at home. Monitor your child when they are online and inform them about the creation of fake and inappropriate cites. Working together, we can create a working atmosphere where your son/daughter can find anything they are looking for!
Sincerely,
Becky Allen
