Cubero, R. (n.d.). Welcome To Sra. Cubero - Hurley's Class 2004-2005.
Retrieved March 12, 2005, from http://staff.fcps.net/rcubero/.

Ms. Cubero is a Second Grade teacher at Maxwell Elementary. Maxwell Elementary is a Spanish Emersion School, where one-half of the school day is taught in Spanish, and one-half of the day in English.  In keeping with the format of the school Ms. Cubero's  website is in English and Spanish.  Homework assignments are in Spanish, which helps enforcing the Spanish curriculum at the school.

Accomendations

The listing of class procedures, expectations and  consequences gives the parents the opportunity  to help keep students on task.

The pictures and background information of Hispanic culture gives students additional reinforcement in Spanish; They also allow for a mini virtual field trip. The inclusion of pictures about  Ms. Cubero, also gives students insight into her life outside of the classroom.

This website gives clear insight into what Ms. Cubero expects and what is being taught in her class.

Recommendations

It would be a  good idea to add anchor names for each section if a lot of information is going to be added on one page. For example anchor names could be added  for:  Reading Tips, Reading Ready and Websites.

Some of the information could be provided on different pages instead of scrolling down. For example:
Homework and Assignments, could have been 3 separate pages accessed by links from the Home Page.

The e-mail  address to reach Ms. Cubero is on the school's main website;  it should be included on her  website. This would be a a quick point of contact.

Beavers, Ms. (2003, October) Ms. Beavers Third Grade Julius Marks Elementary School 2003-2004.
Retrieved March 13, 2005, from  http://staff.fcps.net/pbeavers/#School%20Rules

Ms. Beavers web page is for the third grade students of Julius Marks Elementary School. This web page is clear and concise.  Information addresses the beginning of the year, with some information of upcoming events.  All the information is given and from one page, which is a plus.

Accomendations

Anchor Names are placed very well within the web page. They take you to each section and again back to the beginning.

The addition of links to the schools main web page and the county web page, allows quick access to important information about the school and the district.

The school supplies is a nice touch!  This can also be updated as different assignments or projects change throughout the school year.

Recommendations

A calendar would be a better choice for the field trips and the fall and winter parties. A visual sometimes works best when it comes to dates.

Listing assignments or skills the students will be working on for the semester, would be helpful to parents of younger students..

A larger font would assist with the readability of the web page.  Also, even though the bus background is nice, it also hinders the overall readability; single graphics would be better.
