Introduction – What is the metric system?  It is a measurement system based on a unit of tens.  When using measurement in science, you will be dealing with the metric system. We will use the metric system in class when measuring lenth and volume.  So here is a little practice for you!

Problem/Information -  what you need to do now is go to these sites to first learn about the metric system and how it is used to measure length, then practice what you have learned. 

1.  Take a look at this site about using the metric system to  measure length.  Under units, Click on the word length.  This will give you the prefixes needed and some great examples.  You may use your notebook and class notes if needed as well. 

2.  Metric system worksheet – print this worksheet out and complete for practice with the metric system.  Hand it in to me by the end of class to receive your points.
