This is a website that gives you an idea of what a kindergarten class in Honolulu, Hawaii looks like.  It is set up nicely, giving you a background description of the school that includes the number of students attending, the teacher’s names and a classroom philosophy.  There is a picture of the kids in the kindergarten class which adds a nice touch.  There are also other links given that show you some of the projects the class is involved in.  The graphics are fun and add to the site.  There are also links to webcams set up in Hawaii.

A few recommendations for the website are perhaps for the links that they have displayed for the viewer’s usage, a description on what the viewer might find there.  The links have a title, but not much of a description.  This might be a bit more helpful.  One other thing is that there is a lot of information about Honolulu on the page.  Perhaps more about the classroom itself on the homepage and less about the city would be better.  The other links could be found on a different page.

This website gives you an inside look at a ninth grade English class.  The homepage has the teacher’s name, course outline, classroom expectations and other links.  Upon clicking on these links, the information there is set up very nicely and easy to read and follow.  There is also a powerpoint presentation set up for the viewers which adds a nice touch.  You can also click on a pile of books icon to see some completed classroom projects.

One recommendation is to spruce up the site a bit.  It is not very exciting which makes it uninviting.  More information and graphics would make it more appealing.  More information needs to be given also.  There is no given location of the school or extra information.  It is not very warm and personable.  There is room for creative improvement.

I also took a look at a teacher webpage from a teacher that I work with from my school’s website.  It was easy to find.  First you click on staff, then you click on the name of the teacher whose website you would like to check out.  I chose Mike Warbritton’s site.  He is a high school technical teacher at YCST and teaches Network Engineering Technology.

His homepage is set up nicely. It is easy to read and follow. There are a few graphics and some pertinent information about his class, such as the PA CIP code.  There are links to follow about what a first year, second year, third year and fourth year student are to expect.  Everything is laid out plain and simple.  It is very easy to use.

Creativity is the one main thing that is lacking.  The website may be too filled with information and not enough extras to hold a computer user’s attention.  It is very matter of fact which may deter some people from looking at it.
