Clip Art

 

 

The right image can make a difference in the success of an activity or presentation.  There are thousands and thousands of images available on the internet, some are free and others require membership.  Finding the perfect image can be an overwhelming task.  Listed below are several sites I have found that have a great selection of images.  Several of these are specifically for educational purposes while others offer a large variety, all free. 

 

Search Engines:

WebPlaces – Clip Art Searcher – This site provides one location to search several different engines.  The search engines included are Google, Aznwers, HotBot, Lycos and 1-Click. Last visited June 2002. http://www.webplaces.com/search/#Google

 

 

Web Sites:

  DiscoverySchool’s:   Clip Art Gallery – This site offers original clipart in many categories including animated clips, art, food, student, teacher, technology, etc.    Last visited June 2002.  http://school.discovery.com/clipart/

 

                Awesome Clip Art For Kids – This site was created by a Tom Brown and his family.  Tom’s intention was to create free clipart without all the advertisements.  It contains clipart in a variety of categories including aliens, animals, icons, robots, holidays, etc.  In addition, the site offers fonts, worksheets and puzzles.

Animation Library – Animation Library offers 13,700 plus free animated clips and it includes a search feature.   Last visited June 2002.  http://www.animationlibrary.com/a-l/index.php3

 

 

The Teacher’s Guide – The Teacher’s Guide offers a large assortment of free educational clipart in black / white and color.    It also provides links to other clipart sites including School-Clip Art, Free Images, Caboodles, etc.   Last visited June 2002.  http://www.theteachersguide.com/Freebies.html

 

 

                             FresherImage – This site provides many different image categories, such as backgrounds, lines, clipart classics, comics, color originals, etc.  It also has how-to and tutorials.  No way to search for specific image.
