Fossils
What are they
and how are they formed?
Introduction:
Fossils
are the remains of very old animals or plants that have been buried. They are
our windows to the past and help us learn about life on earth millions of years
ago. Most of us are probably familiar
with dinosaur fossils, but there are many other types of fossils. A paleontologist is a scientist who studies
fossils. They must carefully dig the
fossils out of the rock in order to study them.
Fossils are the same shape as the first animal or plant that was buried
but they are now made from rock. In this
activity, we will use the internet to research fossils and write an outline to
answer the question, how are fossils formed?
