Maryland

Introduction:

As we learn our home address, we will learn that we live in the state of Maryland. Many of us already know many things about our state, but did you know that …….

· Maryland was 7th colony to become a state in April of 1788.

· Baltimore is the largest city in the state.

· Astrodon (dinosaur) fossils were found in Maryland!!

· Maryland has a state sport?

In this activity, we will look at several web sites to help us learn more interesting facts about our state. Please read the directions to the end before starting the activity.

Activity:

1. Print this worksheet to list your facts.

2. Use the web sites below to do your research. (you will have to go to both sites!)

3. Once on the site, choose Maryland.

4. Read the facts listed.

5. Record the facts on your worksheet.

1. List anything else you find interesting.

2. Be prepared to share with the class.

3. Put your worksheet in your internet activity folder.
