This bibliography is a list of sites that I have used and plan on using in my fourth grade class. All of the sites are geared for students to use in the computer lab or in the classroom. I have divided the list into several topics: Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math.
Scholastic Kids- This great website lets students of all ages discover all different kinds of books from Harry Potter to Clifford. This site also has a kids poll and a word of the week section that lets students take a guess. A great site for all ages. http://scholastic.com/kids/home_flash.asp Last Visited: 9/22/03

Book Reviews for 4th Grade- This site (hosted by Carol Hurst’s Children’s Literature Site (www.carolhurst.com) reviews tons of 4th grade books. When students click on the name of the book, they get the bibliographical information as well as a summary of the book. The books are even rated! Writing Prompts/Journal
Topics- This site lists hundreds of prompts and journal topics for the
students in class that can’t think of anything to write about. If a students looks at this page and still

Word Central- This great site lets students play with their words! They can look up words in a students dictionary, build their own dictionary, and even “stump their friends” with the daily buzzword. The Grammar Gorillas- This page is really neat! Students can choose between beginner and advanced (most fourth graders can do advanced.) Parts of Speech Webquest- This webquest, made by a fourth grade teacher, lets students identify different parts of speech. This site is particulary useful for fourth grade students. http://webtech.kennesaw.edu/esnider/webquest.htm Last visited: 9/23/03
Earth Floor- Cycles- This site goes right along with the 4th grade Earth Materials unit. Students can view a graphic of the rock cycle and read about the different stages. Science Vocabulary Hangman Game- This interactive game tests students knowledge of science terminology, specifically many types of electric circuits and electricity. Indians- A Day in the Life- This website lets students take a look at a day
in the life of a Yaocomaco man or
woman. Students will need to get the
worksheet that accompanies the website for better comprehension. This aligns directly with the 4th

correlates with the second unit in the fourth grade curriculum. Students can view pictures and learn
interesting facts about St. Mary’s City.
This site would go great before or after a field trip to St. Mary’s.

NMAI- Legends of Our Time-
This website is an online exhibit from the National Museum of American
Indians. It would be great for students
to explore the photo gallery to get a better understanding of native ranching
and rodeo life on the plains and plateau.

Create a Graph- This site lets students explore different types of graphs, such as area, bar, line, and pie chart. Students can also see how graphs can be used in probability. Neat site! http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/graphing/ Last visited: 9/22/03
Math Mastery- This interactive site lets students choose what game they want to play. They can choose between addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. A good review for basic facts. http://www.mathmastery.com/cyberchallenge/ Last visited: 9/23/03
