Standards/Best Practices for Technology Integration

Participants will:
*evaluate their current instructional practices with regards to technology integration,
* examine best practices of technology-enhanced instruction,
* apply research-based best practices of technology integration into revisions or new units of instruction.

  1. Complete an online self-analysis of your current instructional practices as they relate to technology standards. Print out the results. (5 points)

  2. Spend some time examining current research on teaching and learning with technology and looking at best practices for technology integration by visiting The Knowledge Loom (you may wish to register, it's free). This is an extensive site with links to current research, policy, and examples from the classroom.
  3. Participate in discussion group, "After examining the current research on teaching and learning with technology, what would be the most effective way of incorporating technology into lessons for your students?"
  4. Complete a preliminary Unit Plan for a unit of instruction which will integrate technology. You will use a Word document already prepared for this activity. Right click on this link, Save LinkTarget As, choose a location, then open the document and complete the plan. Email the plan to your instructor as an attachment. (5 points)
