Benchmark Critique (Portfolio Component)

DETAILS:

For this assignment, you are asked:

  • to review material regarding Digital Portfolios (ePortfolios, Online Portfolios) available on the Web (references suggested) and come up with a set of benchmark standards for what makes a good online class portfolio
  • find an example of a portfolio available on the Web (it can be a good example, bad example, or somewhere in between)
  • review that portfolio site against your benchmark standards

This can be done in conjunction with the collaborative class activity.

The point of the class activity is to arrive at a consensus on how our class portfolio designs will be assessed.

The point of this individual benchmark critique assignment is to become acquainted with what types of portfolios are out there, to learn what has been done before, and to help develop our own critical skills on portfolio designs and layouts.

Format: in HTML. It can be as lengthy as you choose, but a couple of screens is plenty. This is not a formal paper. You are encouraged to use tables and bullets. The Benchmark Critique should be linked from the opening page of your class portfolio.
