Creating and Using a McDaniel College E-Mail Account

these electronic services. You have a right to expect the contents of
what you write or otherwise create, store, and send to be seen only by
those to whom you intend or give permission; however, the security of
electronic files on shared systems and networks is approximately that
of paper documents in an unsealed envelope-generally respected, but breachable
by someone determined to do so. Also note that, as part of their responsibilities,
the staff of Information Technology may need to view the contents of files
to diagnose or correct problems in shared systems. |
McDaniel students are required to have a McDaniel email account. This account will be used for official communications from the College.

Web Mail - Web mail is accessible on any machine connected to the Internet, including the machines in our student computer labs. Web mail allows you to compose, send and receive e-mail, manage e-mail folders, and create address books.
Student Directory- allows you to look up the email address of students here on campus. This lookup feature will only show the addresses of students who wish to have their addresses published.
Faculty/Staff Directory - allows you to look up the email address of Faculty and Staff members.
Set Up A New Account – for students who do not have a mcdaniel.edu email account. Students should have received their user name and student ID number. If you do not have this information, contact Tina Nguyen, Secretary for the First Yeat Program at ext. 2790 or at tnguyen@mcdaniel.edu. The program will create an account and assign a temporary password. RECORD YOUR PASSWORD!
Change Your Password - This link allows you to change your password. Changing the password is especially recommended for new account users.
Forward Your McDaniel Email - allows you to have email forwarded to another email account.
Check the Status of Your Email Account - allows new users to check to see if their accounts have been activated.
