Accessing and Using The Archway

What is The Archway? The Archway is an interactive tool that allows students to access selected academic and personal information. It can be accessed on or off campus and the information is password protected.

How do I obtain my account username and password for The Archway?

Once you have been accepted to McDaniel College , you should receive a letter with your email username and instructions on activating your McDaniel College email account. If you are an undergraduate student and did not receive a letter, contact Academic Affairs at 410-857-2790. If you are a graduate student and did not receive a letter, contact the Graduate Office at 410-857-2513. Fifteen minutes after you have completed the email activation process, log into your McDaniel email account and look for an "Archway Student Information" email. It may be dated prior to the day that you activated your McDaniel email account. That email will contain your Archway username, temporary password, and instructions on accessing the Archway. If you do not receive an "Archway Student Information" email, contact the WebAdvisor Administrator at webadvisor@mcdaniel.edu or 410-871-3327. The first time you log into The Archway, you will be required to reset your temporary password. Your new password must include letters and numbers and be between 6-9 characters in length.

How do I access The Archway?

Go to https://eowyn.mcdaniel.edu/WebAdvisor/WebAdvisor. You may also access the Archway from the McDaniel College home page at www.mcdaniel.edu . Select Login and then select The Archway.

Can I access The Archway with my email account user name and password?

No. The Archway is a separate account with a different password.

How do I reset my password if I forget it?

Log into The Archway and complete the following from the Student Menu:

• Select "What's my password?"

• Select "Reset my Archway password"

• Enter your last name and social security number or seven digit McDaniel ID (6 digit Student ID # with one leading zero)

• Select your McDaniel email account from the drop down menu and click submit

(Note: New temporary passwords are sent to your mcdaniel.edu email account.)

How do I change my password?

Log into The Archway and select “Change my password” from the Student Menu. This link allows you to change your password and set up a password hint.

What information can I access from The Archway?

Currently students can search for classes in a specific term to see seats available, time, instructor, etc. Students can also register for classes, drop classes, view grades, academic history, class schedule, student profile, test summary, and financial aid. Students can also request interpreting or transcribing services and print a variety of forms at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Helpful information about using The Archway

Remember the information relating to your student record is confidential; please be sure to LOGOUT when you have finished viewing the record to protect your information.
The "Time Out" for this system is approximately 15 minutes. If there is no activity for 15 minutes, the system will automatically log you off and you will have to log back into The Archway.
The Archway will be unavailable between 3:00-4:00 a.m. daily for scheduled system maintenance.
Many options have a HELP feature in the upper right corner. Click on the word HELP to display more information about the feature you wish to view.
While in The Archway, we discourage use of the "Back" button and the "Enter" key because they may function differently depending on your browser and PC setup. Use the "Menu" and "Submit" buttons as directed. The "Submit" button should be clicked one time. If you double click on the "Submit" button, you may receive a "Multiple Submit" warning.
You may print any screen by using the print capability of your browser.
